Curtis on Tour’s Latin America tour features new works and classical favorites for soprano, clarinet, viola, and piano. The program includes legendary Curtis alumnus Leonard Bernstein’s jazz-influenced Clarinet Sonata and selections from West Side Story and Peter Pan. The ensemble also performs Schubert’s beloved song “The Shepherd on the Rock,” selections from Bruch‘s Eight Pieces, and a newly commissioned work by alumna Rene Orth. Award-winning Spanish clarinetist Jose Franch-Ballester and celebrated violist and principal viola of the Chicago Symphony Teng Li join recent graduate and critically acclaimed soprano Sarah Fleiss and emerging artist pianist Adrian Zaragoza for performances in Chile and Brazil.
